NEZ PERCE COUNTY, Idaho — Nine river rafters received citations for inappropriate behavior on the Snake River on Saturday, according to Nez Perce County Sheriff’s Office.
On October 4, NPCSO received a complaint about a group of river rafters behaving inappropriately on the Snake River near Cottonwood Creek.
NPCSO said the caller reported a group of rafters flashed their genitals and “mooned” passing boats, some of which had children aboard.
The Sheriff’s Office found the rafters and issued all nine of them misdemeanor citations.
“This seems to be an increasing problem of people exposing themselves to boats on the local river,” said NPCSO in a press release. “The Sheriff’s Office will have zero tolerance for this type of behavior and individuals continuing this behavior will be charged accordingly. The Sheriff’s Office is dedicated to preserving the public’s ability to recreate in Nez Perce County peacefully and safely.”
