COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho — A woman police say was assaulted and left severely injured is likely to die, and now Coeur d’Alene Police will investigate the potential homicide.
According to police, 77-year-old Susan Stratton was attacked on September 18 on Skyline Drive near Cherry Hill Park. Stratton was located severely injured and entered hospice care on Tuesday. CDA police say she is likely to not survive.
The aggravated assault investigation will shift to a homicide investigation, and police are asking for the public’s help locating a suspect.
According to CDA police, a person of interest has been identified, and it’s believed they traveled on a bicycle between Athol and Coeur d’Alene.
Police are looking for surveillance footage of an adult riding between Clagstone Road and Highway 95 in Athol, riding along Highway 95 and Government Way into Coeur d’Alene and riding between Highway 95 and 15th Street to Hazel Avenue.
Police say the timeframe is between 8:55 p.m. on September 17 and 4:50 a.m. on September 18.
