SPOKANE, Wash. — Mark Peterson and the 4 News Now Extreme Team is renovating Miryam’s House, a transitional living facility for homeless women operated by the nonprofit organization Transitions.
Band Construction is leading the renovation effort, donating time alongside several other local companies. The project converts office space into two bedrooms and replaces damaged basement flooring.
“We took this room which was an office and split it in half and now it has become two bedrooms,” said Mark Peterson.
The basement required complete floor replacement due to deterioration.
“Downstairs was a mess because there was just a dirt floor underneath and the oak was ruined,” Peterson explained.
Specialty Mobile Mix, Champion Concrete, Williams Crew Concrete and Horizon Credit Union volunteers are contributing services and labor.
Once completed, the renovated facility will house a dozen women transitioning out of homelessness.
