STEVENS COUNTY, Wash. — The public will be able to ask questions and get more information from firefighters on wildfire fighting efforts in Stevens County Friday night.
A cluster of wildfires, the Crown Creek, Blackhawk, and Katy Creek, are burning in Stevens County and Ferry County and are continuing to grow amid hot and dry conditions. All the fires started by lightning and all have 0% containment.
The largest of the three fires, the Crown Creek Fire, has burned about 12,300 acres, or about 19 square miles. The latest evacuation orders can be found HERE.
The Blackhawk Fire and Katy Creek Fire have burned approximately 950 and 2,400 acres respectively.
On Friday at 7:30 p.m., a community meeting is being held at Kettle Falls High School. The event will also be livestreamed HERE.
