NEZ PERCE, Idaho — A woman was injured in a crash on Highway 95 north of Lewiston on Friday, according to Nez Perce County Sheriff’s Office.
Around 3 p.m. on August 29, deputies responded to a crash near milepost 315 on Highway 95, about 8 miles north of Lewiston.
NPCSO said the driver was headed southbound and hit a guard rail, causing the car’s engine to be ripped out. The car then became airborne for about 10 feet before landing and coming to a stop.
The driver was taken to the hospital for her injuries, but no further information about her condition has been provided.
NPCSO said lack of sleep and speed were factors in the crash.
“The Nez Perce County Sheriff’s Office would like to remind the public to get adaquate sleep before getting behind the wheel. It is also imparative that you plan your day correctly by accounting for time, make sure you are giving yourself pleanty of time so you do not speed. Although we are nearing the end of the 100 deadliest days in Idaho, it is imparitave that you are safe while getting behind the wheel! Not only for yourself, but also for those that you share the road with,” said NPCSO in a press release.
