STEVENS COUNTY, Wash. — Fire crews are continuing to gain control of the wildfire burning near Colville on Sunday, according to Department of Natural Resources.
As of August 31, the “Grande Fire” burning about 12 miles north of Colville is estimated at roughly 22-acres and is 65% contained.
The fire broke out on August 25 and ignited from a lighting strike.
DNR said, on Sunday, 119 fire personnel are continuing to mop-up certain parts inside the fire lines and patrolling for additional hot spots.
No evacuations are currently in place.
