COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho — The Art Spirit Gallery will host a special fundraising performance of Picasso at the Lapin Agile on Sept. 19 and 20 to support its arts programming and community outreach efforts.
Directed by Tracey Vaughan and sponsored by Alpha 3 Wealth Management, the production of Steve Martin’s absurdist comedy features a cast of seven regional professional actors and will be staged at the gallery at 7:30 p.m. both nights.
Set in a Paris café in 1904, the play imagines a fictional meeting between Pablo Picasso and Albert Einstein, blending wit, philosophy and humor in a celebration of creativity and ideas.
Proceeds will help the gallery continue its nearly 30-year mission of supporting local artists, exhibitions and arts education amid growing economic challenges.
Attendees will also have a chance to view and purchase original works by Cubist artist Earnest Lothar, as well as Picasso pieces currently on consignment.
