UPDATE 10 A.M. AUGUST 14: Firefighters have downgraded evacuations to Level 2, meaning get ready, for the area of the Central Ferry Fire.
The fire is an estimated 6,000 acres and is 0% contained.
Update at 4:54 p.m. on August 13: Evacuations have been upgraded to Level 3 (GO NOW) for a wildfire burning near Dusty in Whitman County.
Level 3 evacuations are in place for all homes along State Route 127 between milepost 13 and 13.5, according to Pullman Firefighters.
WSP says the wildfire was caused by a motorhome that was fully engulfed in flames while driving north on the highway.
Update at 3:06 p.m. on August 13: State fire mobilization has been issued for a wildfire burning south of Dusty in Whitman County.
According to the U.S. State Fire Marshal’s Office, the Central Ferry Fire started around 11:30 a.m. and is burning in grass, wheat and brush. The fire is currently threatening homes and prompting evacuations.
Update 3 p.m. on August 13: The fire is estimated to be 1,500 acres.
According to Whitman County Emergency Management, six structures are currently threatened by the fire. There is no containment of the fire yet.
Level 2 evacuations are in place for all homes along State Route 127 east to Pinnewawa Road and from the Snake River to Highway 26.
No injuries have been reported.
Washington State Patrol says the fire started when a motor home caught fire on the highway.

WHITMAN COUNTY, Wash. — Evacuations are underway for a wildfire burning along State Route 127 south of Dusty in Whitman County.
According to Whitman County Fire District 11, emergency crews from Fire Districts across the county are responding to the fire.
Level 2 evacuations are in place for all homes along State Route 127 east to Pinnewawa Road and from the Snake River to Highway 26.
The Washington State Department of Transportation says State Route 127 is closed in both directions between Zaring Cut-Off Road and the Snake River.
