PULLMAN, Wash. — If you’re driving to and from Pullman in the next few weeks, you’ll want to watch you speed.
Washington State Patrol said it will be increasing its patrols from August 6 – August 10 as students return to Pullman for the fall semester.
Troopers in Whitman, Adams, Grant and Kittitas counties will be on the lookout for speeding, distracted and impaired driving and other collision-causing violations.
WSP said in 2025, District 4 investigated 14 deadly crashes, compared to 5 for the same period in 2024, for an increase of 180%.
Drivers will see increased patrols along State Routes 26 and 195, as well as Interstate 90 over Snoqualmie Pass.
Drivers should watch their speed and stay alert and off their phones.
“The WSP, WSU, and other state and local officials will be working hard throughout the year to ensure everyone heading to and from Pullman has a safe and enjoyable trip,” WSP said.
