SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — UPDATED at 6:08 p.m. – Forward progression is still stopped for the brush fire burning near Trent Avenue, but the fire is now estimated at 10-acres, according to SVFD.

UPDATED at 6 p.m. – Fire crews are working to fully put out a brush fire burning near East Trent Avenue and Woodlawn Road in Spokane Valley on Thursday evening, according to Spokane Valley Fire Department.
The fire is estimated to be about 3 acres or just under two-and-a-half football fields.
Forward progression of the fire has been stopped and crews will work for the next several hours to fully extinguish the fire.
SVFD said the fire was upgraded to a 2nd Alarm to ensure they had all the resources necessary before the fire had a chance to spread.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
SVFD is asking people to avoid the area to give crews plenty of room to work.

Firefighters are responding to a brush fire near East Trent Avenue and North Woodlawn Road in Spokane Valley.
The Washington State Department of Transportation says the fire is causing the right lane of East Trent Avenue eastbound to be closed near McDonald Road.
The Spokane Valley Fire Department is asking people to avoid the area and give crews plenty of room.
