UPDATE 5:30 p.m. July 6: All evacuation orders were lowered for the Aubrey White Fire burning in Riverside State Park.
Department of Natural Resources said forward progress of the fire had also been stopped.

UPDATE 4:30 p.m. July 6: Evacuation orders have been downgraded on the east side of the Spokane River along Aubrey White Parkway. People in that area should still be ready to leave at a moment’s notice.
SPOKANE, Wash. — A wildfire broke out at Riverside State Park Sunday forcing evacuations in the area.
People have been ordered to leave the area now north of Government Way along N. Indian Bluff Road and Equestrian Lane. The Bowl and Pitcher campgrounds were also being evacuated.
Around 3:30 p.m. more people were told to leave now from the neighborhoods south of Nine Mile Road along Aubrey L. White Parkway as far north as Seven Mile Road.
Evacuation orders extended to the neighborhood south of Dwight Merkel Sports Complex north of the Wastewater Treatment Center. Those orders are Leve 2 meaning people should be ready to leave at a moment’s notice.
A temporary evacuation center has been set up by the Red Cross at Salk Middle School for those impacted by the evacuations. The center opens at 5 p.m.
