SPOKANE, Wash. — Voters will be asked again to decide on a levy they already approved for the Spokane County Fire District 8.
Fire District 8 announced Wednesday its legal counsel made a filing error on its April Special Election Levy. The district says the levy was not processed to meet Washington elections requirements.
The levy would raise property taxes to 50 cents per $1,000 in assessed value and help the district improve coverage, replace critical equipment, and hire more staff.
In April, voters approved the levy with 57% of the vote.
Voters will have to approve the levy again in the August Primary Election for it to go into effect.
