COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho — A wildfire law enforcement believes was intentionally started to kill firefighters is continuing to grow in Coeur d’Alene.
The Nettleton Gulch Fire burning on the Canfield Mountain is up to 38 acres and is 0% contained.
Idaho Department of Lands says firefighters were able to establish a handline Monday and will continue to fight the fire on steep terrain.
The U.S. Forest Service says the Canfield Mountain area is closed to the public while the fire burns.
The cause of the fire will be determined by IDL, but Kootenai County Sheriff says the gunman who killed two firefighters, Wess Roley, is suspected of having started it and a flint starter was found near his body.
