SPOKANE, Wash. — A fatal vehicle collision involving a motorcycle occurred near the Lewis and Clark High School in downtown Spokane Friday afternoon.
According to the Spokane Police Department (SPD) the crash occurred at the intersection of 4th and Stevens.
SPD said the motorcyclist was driving recklessly near the school and did not stop when officers tried to pull it over.
Officers did not follow the motorcyclist because the driver was speeding and illegally passing vehicles.
About two blocks near where police tried to stop the motorcyclist, the driver crashed with another vehicle.
The motorcyclist died at the scene.
