SPOKANE, Wash – The Spokane Park Board voted unanimously Thursday to approve a zipline along the river in downtown Spokane.
The zipline would be operated by Mica Moon, which already operates a zipline in Liberty Lake.
The line would run from near Spokane City Hall under the Monroe Street Bridge and end up in Peaceful Valley at Redband Park.
Spokane’s city council will now have to approve the plan, which they will vote on June 23rd.
If the council approves the plan, the city needs the Department of Ecology to approve the permit, which the city expects will happen by July 2nd.
Mica Moon then needs to get final approval on the building permit. The city will work with Avista and the Spokane Club to secure the air rights in the area.
