SANDPOINT — The Lake Pend Oreille School District provides free meals for children ages 1-18 at three locations throughout the summer.
The program runs Monday through Friday from June 16 through August 22. All sites close July 4th.
Farmin Stidwell Elementary serves grab-and-go lunch and next-day breakfast from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the school cafeteria. The site also offers weekend meal bags on Fridays.
Sandpoint City Beach provides lunch from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the grassy area by the playground, starting June 23. Meals must be eaten on-site.
Sandpoint High School serves lunch at the left front entrance from 11:30 a.m. to noon through July 18. Meals must be consumed on-site.
The program addresses food insecurity many families face during summer months when children cannot access school meal programs. No registration or income verification is required.
The initiative operates under USDA Summer Food Service Program guidelines to ensure children receive consistent nutrition when school is not in session.
