SPOKANE, Wash. — The City of Spokane announced millions in state funding heading to the city for multiple projects aimed at improving the area.
More than $82 million dollars is being allocated for city projects on housing, public safety, behavioral health, and community development.
Here’s how the $82.7 million is being divided:
$750,000 for renovating, expanding Spokane Police’s training center$1 million for St. John’s Two senior housing project$23 million for operational costs on local housing, human service projects’$3 million for a new crisis relief, sobering center$2 million for Maddie’s Place$1 million for improvements at Fish Lake Trail$51.7 million for the North Spokane Corridor$300,000 for a noise abatement, sound mitigation study for the Highway 395 project in East Central
“This funding is critically important for the City of Spokane. It will help us make meaningful progress on the issues our residents care about most,” Mayor Lisa Brown said. “I’m grateful to our state legislators for advocating for our community’s needs and delivering on needed investments amid a challenging budget situation.”
