SPOKANE, Wash. — With the end of the school year just around the corner, the Spokane Public Library is kicking off its annual Summer Reading Club — and it’s open to all ages.
Kids and adults can sign up for the reading challenge through the Beanstack app or by using a reading tracker available in the library’s Summer Reading magazine.
Participants who read at least 15 days each month during the summer can earn up to three prizes. Children may win free books and tickets to USL soccer matches, while adults are eligible for gift cards to local businesses.
“It’s an opportunity to connect with yourself and the community through reading. You have the opportunity to learn more — and win prizes too,” said Skyler Noble, Marketing and Communications Manager at Spokane Public Library.
In addition to the reading challenge, the library is hosting a wide range of events and camps for all age groups. Offerings include fandom-themed storytimes, appearances by the Reptile Man, escape rooms, coding camps and more.
For families looking to cool off this summer, several library locations also feature indoor play spaces.
