SEATTLE, Wash. — The Seattle Mariners are further immortalizing “The Big Unit.”
The team announced it will be retiring Randy Johnson’s #51 during the 2026 season.
Johnson won his first Cy Young Award and threw the team’s first no-hitter.
Seattle retired #51 last year belonging to Ichiro Suzuki making the Mariners the 7th team to have the same number retired by multiple players. Johnson will be the 13th player in MLB history to have his number retired by multiple teams.
