SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — A first-of-its-kind market is set to open this weekend in Spokane Valley bringing a new, permanent space for local agriculture, food, and community events.
Scale House Market, located at 4422 E. 8th Ave., will be the region’s first year-round farmers market and agricultural hub. The market will feature an indoor mercantile space, outdoor vendor stalls, a stage for live performances, a teaching kitchen for classes, and more.
Market Director Brittany Tyler said the space is designed to provide local farmers and entrepreneurs with an opportunity to extend their selling season in a brick-and-mortar environment.
“We really want this to be a resource for people to connect with their food. Really come and find a way to be empowered, to find some new skills that you didn’t know or find something new that you hadn’t tried before,” said Tyler.
The market aims to promote sustainable shopping and healthy living, offering families a chance to support local businesses while enjoying food, live music, and educational experiences.
The grand opening is scheduled for Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., with the indoor mercantile open until 4 p.m.
