SAGLE, Idaho — The Selkirk Fire Department is on the lookout for volunteer resident firefighters as we enter into wildfire season.
Just this week, Selkirk Fire helped contain a house fire that turned into a wildfire near Laclede.
The department says it is actively recruiting for volunteer firefighters.
In order to qualify, you have to be 18 years or older, have a high school diploma or GED, have a valid driver’s license, pass a background check and a drug screen, pass the interview process, pass a physical and return the application.
If hired, you will then be assigned to a fire station in a rural area. Selkirk Fire says you will be provided with a rent-free space and utilities in exchange for your services.
You will also be required to interact with the public.
