COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho — A Coeur d’Alene man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for multiple charges related to violence and drug possession.
According to the Kootenai County Prosecutor’s Office, 35-year-old Shane Gregory Park was convicted of battery, aggravated assault, attempted strangulation and possession of controlled substances.
The prosecutor’s office says between August 2023 and January 2024, Park abused his significant by slamming her head into a cabinet and dryer, holding a gun to her head, hitting her in the face, strangling her and lighting her hair on fire.
Officers investigated the abuse and also found cocaine, amphetamine and MDMA in his home.
The prosecutor’s office says Park has a previous convictions for possessing controlled substances, domestic violence, disturbing the peace, DUI, restraining order violations and probation violations.
Park was arrested but bonded out of jail. A warrant was issued for his arrest in February of 2024 when he failed to appear in court.
Park was eventually located in Mexico and brought back to Idaho. He appeared in court again in November of 2024.
Park plead guilty to his charges on February 20, 2025.
Park was sentenced to 15 years in prison on May 13, 2025. He will be eligible for parole after five years.
