SPOKANE, Wash. — Girls on the Run of Spokane County is gearing up for its big end-of-season Celebratory 5K, and everyone’s invited to join the fun!
On May 31, Girls on the Run participants, their family, friends and the community will gather in Riverside Memorial Park to run a non-competitive, family-friendly 5K.
Girls on the Run teaches participants self-confidence and life skills through physical activity and relationship-building.
Over the past eight weeks, participants have been preparing and training for the 5K, while learning to overcome challenges, set goals and support each other and their community.
“From day one, these girls have shown incredible dedication – not only training for the 5K, but also building confidence, learning life skills, and forming meaningful connections. Last season we welcomed 750 participants to the starting line, and we can’t wait to once again unite the community in celebration of the strength, spirit and limitless potential of our GOTR girls,” said Executive Director, Lindsay Box.
Organizers are looking for volunteers to help make the event a success.
Registration is open to the public for $30, which includes a shirt, medal, and access to fun activities.
