SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. — Police arrested a man for driving a stolen car and having a gun with an altered serial number on Tuesday, according to Spokane County Sheriff’s Office.
Around 7:30 p.m. on May 20, SCSO deputies received a report of a stolen 2007 gold GMC Envoy.
Deputies soon spotted the SUV in the Country Homes area and stopped the car near Holland Avenue and Normandie Lane.
The driver of the car, 20-year-old Devin A. Eiffert, and a woman passenger were detained.
After asking a few questions, deputies arrested Eiffert for possession of a stolen car and an unrelated third-degree theft charge.
When searching the car, deputies found a loaded revolver in the center console. SCSO said the gun had marks on it which indicate someone tried to alter or conceal the gun’s serial number.
Deputies booked Eiffert into Spokane County Jail for driving a stolen car, illegally possessing a gun and having a gun with an altered serial number.
The woman who was in the car was released without charges.
