SPOKANE, Wash. – Golf season for WIAA high school boys and girls teams wrapped up all around the state.
The Creek at Qualchan was home to the 3A Boys final rounds and allowed the Cheney Blackhawks to take flight. The squad earned a GSL title earlier this month and extended their success through the state tournament placing third in a field of 20 teams.
Mercer Island is going back to the west side with first place hardware after shooting 605 (+29) through both rounds. Bellevue followed close behind with 607, then Cheney fell eight strokes behind the first-place team at 613 over 36 holes.
Cheney’s Ryan Howe and Justin Krasselt placed in the top-20 individually, along with a top-10 finish by Teigen Brill, North Central High School’s lone golfer.
