SPOKANE, Wash. — SCRAPS announced Thursday it will refocus its Trap-Neuter-Return program to implement more fiscally responsible practices while addressing community concerns about stray cats.
TNR is the method of trapping community cats, having them spayed or neutered and vaccinated against rabies, and then returning them to their managed location to live out their lives.
Effective May 18, the agency will prioritize TNR services for cats already impounded by Animal Control Officers or brought in through local cat rescue partnerships.
Community members can still access TNR programs through SCRAPS’ community partners.
Those with questions about the changes or seeking information about partner organizations are encouraged to contact SCRAPS directly at 509-477-2532.
