OKANOGAN COUNTY, Wash. — The Sheriff’s Office released the names of the three people killed in a climbing accident on Sunday.
On May 11 around 11:30 a.m., Okanogan County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of four climbers who fell down a steep gully at the Early Winter Spires, two rock formations in the North Cascade Range, about 16 miles west of Mazama.
Three of the climbers died at the scene and the fourth survived.

On Tuesday, OCSO identified the three climbers who died as 48-year-old Vishnu Irigireddy of Renton, 63-year-old Tim Nguyen of Renton and 36-year-old Oleksander Martynenko of Bellevue.
“This terrible climbing incident has brought global attention to the climbing world,” wrote OCSO in a Facebook post. “Please respect the feelings of all those affected by this tragedy…”
