The weather is warming throughout the Inland Northwest, just in time to celebrate National Bike to Work Week!
From May 12-18, The League of American Bicyclists is encouraging everyone who is able, to bike to work.
The week takes place during National Bike Month, which raises awareness about the overall health and environmental benefits of biking.
In Spokane, you can grab a Lime e-bike or scooter to get around the city. Just download the free Lime app on your smartphone, scan the QR code on the bike and you’re on your way!
Before you hit the road, make sure to familiarize yourself with bike safety rules, including:
Always wear a helmetAlways ride in a straight line, do not swerve between carsGive yourself enough room on your right to maneuver in an emergencyRide in the middle or right third of the lane if there is not enough room for lane sharingSlower moving vehicles should travel to the right of faster moving onesFollow the same rules as motorists, including yielding right-of-way and signalingRide in the same direction as traffic and stay far enough away from the curb to avoid hazards
