SPOKANE, Wash. — The Spokane Arena has cancelled two upcoming shows of the Rocky Mountain Rodeo Challenge claiming the show did not fulfill its part of the agreement.
According to the Spokane Arena, the rodeo did not sign a contract, show proof of insurance, or provide a deposit to use the event space.
The rodeo had previously put out a statement saying the arena cancelled the dates without notice and claimed the reason for the cancellation was to make room for the upcoming Spokane Chiefs Western Hockey League Championship series.
The Spokane Arena said while the cancellation made room for the Chiefs’ games, this was not the reason.
The arena said it was willing to reschedule in good faith, but Rocky Mountain Rodeo Challenge organizers did not provide required documents after multiple attempts by the arena to procure them.
The Rocky Mountain Rodeo Challenge had been scheduled May 16 and 17.
The arena says people who purchased tickets have been notified and people who used credit cards will be automatically refunded. People who purchased tickets with cash will need to be refunded in person at the Spokane Arena.
