According to the court documents, 21-year-old William Baldwin told detectives he was riding a Spokane Transit Authority (STA) bus with another man, who worked at the Amazon warehouse.
The other man told Baldwin he had gotten into an argument with Hasani Vita earlier in the day.
At some point, Vita boarded the same bus as Baldwin and the other man, and Vita and the other man resumed arguing.
The trio got off the bus at Geiger Boulevard and Hayford Road and walked toward Amazon as the argument escalated.
Baldwin told police Vita told him to stay in his own place, then made statements about fighting Vita, and claimed Vita picked up a rock and made a statement about having a gun and shooting Baldwin and the other man.
Baldwin didn’t admit to shooting Vita after that, but a witness at the bus stop and a woman driving in the area both told detectives they saw Baldwin shoot Vita three times.
Vita ran into the road and collapsed, where he was later pronounced dead by first responders.
