POST FALLS, Idaho — Drivers in Post Falls are navigating through narrow construction zones as crews work on the Spokane Street Renovation Project.
Crews are working to replace the asphalt, repair storm water drains, sewage manholes, and pedestrian ramps.
The work continues last year’s rehabilitation efforts, with the goal of fully renovating Spokane Street from 1st Avenue to Seltice Way.
Construction crews have begun phase 2-B of the project with ramp closures affecting traffic flow.
Business Impact
Local business managers report slower customer traffic but remain optimistic about long-term benefits.
“Going out this way, I waited probably 15 minutes to make that left,” said Justin, general manager of Roger’s Burgers and Ice Cream, describing the difficulty of exiting his parking lot.
Andrew Bloomer of Republic Kitchen + Taphouse added, “New construction means more people, so on the business side of things it can only be good in the long run.”
