VICTORIA, B.C. – Trailing 4-1 entering the third period, the Spokane Chiefs’ backs were squarely pressed to the wall.
Enter an offensive explosion onto enemy ice, outshooting the Victoria Royals 16-1 in the third period to force overtime, and Andrew Cristall’s team-high 12th playoff goal came in the final two seconds of the added period, clinching the 5-4 win.
Shea Van Olm added two goals, plus Owen Martin and Berkley Catton scoring one each.
The Chiefs lead the series 3-2 and are 1-1 in overtime games. Spokane finished their road trip up 2-1 after a 1-1 start in the first two games at home.
Game 6 begins this Tuesday evening at 7:05 p.m.
