GRANT COUNTY, Wash. — Grant County residents will have two opportunities to safely dispose of household hazardous waste this May.
The first collection event is scheduled for Friday, May 2, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Quincy Aquatic Center, located at 724 F St. SE in Quincy.
A second collection will be held on Saturday, May 3, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Grant County Road District Shop at 12171-Wheeler Road near Moses Lake.
These events provide residents with a safe way to dispose of common household hazardous materials that shouldn’t be thrown in regular trash.
Household hazardous waste typically includes products containing corrosive, toxic, ignitable, or reactive ingredients, such as:
Automotive fluidsBatteriesPesticides and herbicidesPaints and solventsCleaning productsFluorescent light bulbs
Residents should keep products in their original containers when possible and secure them to prevent leaks during transport.
