CHENEY, Wash. — If you smell smoke in the Spokane County area, you’re not alone.
Spokane County Fire District 9 says a prescribed burn at the Turnbull Wildlife Refuge is sending smoke into the area.
The district is planning multiple burns before the hotter summer months, and it does these to mitigate wildfire risk and help local flora and fauna.
