BOUNDARY COUNTY, Idaho — A man died in a car crash on Highway 95 in Boundary County on Monday afternoon, according to Idaho State Police.
Around 12 p.m. on April 14, a 50-year-old man from Naples, Idaho and a child were driving in a pickup truck southbound on US-59.
A 33-year-old man from Spokane was driving behind them in a van and rear-ended the truck near milepost 495.
The collision pushed the pickup truck into the northbound lane and causing it to crash into an oncoming Honda, driven by a 79-year-old man, with a 72-year-old woman in the passenger seat.
The pickup truck and the Honda caught fire after the crash.
Officials pronounced the 50-year-old pickup driver dead at the scene. The passenger child was life-flighted to a nearby hospital. The 72-year-old woman was also transported to the hospital.
Idaho State Police is still investigating the cause of the crash.
