GRANT COUNTY, Wash. — A teenage girl was hospitalized after a firework exploded in her hand early Sunday morning, according to Grant County Sheriff’s Office.
Around 4 a.m. on April 13, a 16-year-old girl hear a sound outside her home near March Avenue and Loring Drive near Moses Lake.
According to GCSO, she went outside to investigate and saw an object outside her house and didn’t know what it was.
She picked it up, and it soon exploded in her hand. She was transported to Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake for hand injuries.
GCSO said investigators believe the object was an aerial firework that was launched in another location and landed near the teen’s home.
As of Sunday afternoon, GCSO is still searching for the person who set off the firework.
