SPOKANE, Wash. — This April, 2nd Harvest is celebrating the volunteers who help fulfill their mission every day.
The nonprofit is committed to fighting hunger throughout the Inland Northwest through food drives, nutrition classes and other community-building efforts.
“Our thousands of incredible volunteers bring energy and heart to everything they do and everyone they meet,” reads the organization’s website.
There are multiple ways to get involved with 2nd Harvest.
The organization is always looking for people to help pack food boxes and prepare grocery donations in the warehouse-style centers in Spokane and Pasco.
For those who love to cook, the teaching kitchen is a great way to help people learn how to prepare tasty, nutritious and budget-friendly meals.
2nd Harvest also needs volunteer drivers to pick-up and deliver food donations.
Most volunteer shifts are between one-and-a-half hours and three hours and no heavy lifting is required. On-site volunteers and staff will show you how to do everything.
You can volunteer once, occasionally or regularly – whatever works for you!
