SPOKANE, Wash. — A local wellness clinic is celebrating a milestone by giving back to the community.
Spokane Wellness Group is dedicated to providing weight loss medication more easily accessible by providing a generic version of the popular weight loss drug, Ozempic.
The clinic has been open for one year and has helped the community shed over 2,300 pounds total.
Tammy Tibbles is co-owner of the group and one of Spokane’s first female firefighters and holder of Gonzaga Women’s basketball all-time leading scoring record from 1988-2010. She said Ozempic made a huge difference in her weight loss journey.
“This product just changed my life, and that’s why I got into it,” Tibbles said.
To mark the one-year anniversary, the clinic is hosting a community food drive and encouraging patients to give back.
“Our whole process has been to try to help people and we think it’s really important to get back to our community,” Tibbles said.
They’ve asked their patients to donate the total pounds they have lost in a food amount.
The goal is for the clinic to donate 2,300 pounds of food, representing their total weight loss.
“It’s been moving to watch people change their lives with using our product,” Tibbles said. “People are getting their mobility back. They like to look in the mirror. It just changes their lives.”
Spokane Wellness Group has donation bins inside of their office at 4703 N Maple St Suite 101, Spokane, WA 99205.
This food drive is open to the public as well and will end on April 30 at 4:30 p.m.
