CHENEY, Wash. — A family received a thoughtful and much-needed delivery from the Cheney Police Department on Wednesday.
Two CPD officers delivered a brand new egg-shaped chair to the family whose chair was stolen earlier this month.
On March 8, CPD responded to a report of a stolen swinging, egg-shaped chair that was taken from the back patio of a home on Al Ogdon Way.
The chair was used as a medical aid for a child with autism spectrum disorder and, coincidentally, was stolen on the child’s birthday.
With the original chair not yet recovered, CPD came together to replace the chair for the family who could not easily afford a new one.
“Thank you to everyone in our community for your support and vigilance—together, we’ve turned a tough situation into a beautiful act of kindness. Let’s continue to uplift one another,” said CPD in a Facebook post.
CPD said they are still searching for the original chair and anyone with relevant information should contact Crime Check.
