SPOKANE, Wash. — A man wanted by Spokane Police for murder appeared in a Colorado court room for his extradition hearing Tuesday morning.
Couger Devereaux is wanted for the murder of 19-year-old Maria Kapustin on July 7, 2024.
Spokane Police said that Devereaux was arrested March 18, 2025, by law enforcement in Colorado for Kapustin’s murder.
At approximately 7:40 a.m., Devereaux waived his rights to extradition and agreed to not resists his return to the state of Washington.
The judge set a review date on April 23 to determine if the state of Washington retrieved Devereaux.
