SPOKANE, Wash. — Some popular trails and trailheads at Riverside State Park will close this spring for forest health treatment.
The work will start in April and go until June 30, weather dependent.
340 acres of Riverside State Park will undergo forest health treatment immediately north of Seven Mile Road.
Park officials say the work will help reduce wildfire risk and fuels and remove unhealthy trees.
Impacted trails and trailheads are:
Approximately two miles of the Centennial Trail, from the Carlson Trailhead to the McLellan TrailheadThe McLellan and Deep Creek trailheadsPortions of Trail 25, 230, 400, 402, 403 and the entire Osprey Loop
After the forest health project, work will start fixing any trails impacted by the project. These trails are expected to reopen by fall.
