MEAD, Wash. — Mt. Spokane High School’s principal was honored at an assembly Tuesday for receiving the Washington State Secondary Principal of the Year award.
Chelsea Gallagher was recognized by the Association of Washington School Principals for creating an inclusive, supportive and high-achieving school environment at Mt. Spokane.
Students and staff at Mt. Spokane congratulated Gallagher for receiving the award in a video posted Tuesday, saying it is well-deserved.
The association said under Gallagher’s leadership, Mt. Spokane’s graduation rate has increased, student achievement scores have improved and student engagement has flourished.
“Through her passion, resilience, and commitment to continuous improvement, Principal Chelsea Gallagher has redefined what it means to lead a school,” AWSO said in a press release.
