SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — The Ruben Trejo Dual Language Academy was briefly closed Thursday morning due to a nearby law enforcement investigation.
According to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office, law enforcement officers were at a nearby home for a criminal investigation near 4th Avenue and Thierman Road. A suspect was taken into custody.
SCSO advised the district to keep staff and students away from campus while the investigation occurred.
A message went out to Ruben Trejo Academy parents saying students would be taken by bus to the Libby Center while the investigation was underway.
SCSO cleared the scene before classes at the academy begun so students were rerouted back to the Dual Language Academy for regular classes.
The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office says more details will be released at a later time.
