SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. — A suspected impaired driver suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries from crashing his truck into a tree near North Argonne Road and East Wellesley Avenue Sunday.
According to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office, the driver, a 40-year-old man, was heading north on Argonne when his truck left the road and crashed into a tree.
The sheriff’s office says the truck caught fire while the driver was still inside. It spread to a tree and a nearby utility pole. The driver was pulled out of the car by someone else driving by.
Firefighters provided medical treatment to the injured man when they arrived.
The sheriff’s office says it believes the man was impaired when the crash happened.
Charges for the crash are expected to be filed at a later time when appropriate.
