OTHELLO, Wash. — An Othello man was arrested for sex crimes against children last week.
According to the Adams County Sheriff’s Office, School Resource Officers from the Othello Police Department were made aware of these allegations on Wednesday, March 5.
Detectives launched an investigation into the report and arrested 54-year-old Benito Montemayor Garza from Othello for Rape of a Child in the First Degree, Child Molestation in the First Degree and Incest.
Garza was arrested Wednesday evening and booked into jail.
Child Protective Services and New Hope were called in for the case.
The Adams County Sheriff’s Office says the case is still under investigation. Anyone with information related to the case is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office.
