SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. — If you own a home in Spokane County with an older wood stove, you could qualify to save on an upgrade.
Spokane Regional Clean Air Agency says if you qualify, you could earn anywhere from $1,000 to $2,500 on a new device when replacing your old stove. If you are on a limited income, you may qualify for a full replacement free of cost.
To qualify, you must own a home in Spokane County, have an installed and operational wood-burning stove that is either non-EPA certified or at least 20 years old, and use your stove on a regular basis. People who only use their stove occasionally do not qualify.
If you meet the requirements, you will get a voucher and a list of participating businesses. Just bring the voucher to one of the businesses and they will discount your replacement.
The agency says this program is not retroactive and you cannot get a rebate for an already replaced wood stove through this program.
