AIRWAY HEIGHTS, Wash. — The Airway Heights Police Department is reporting a toddler overdosed on fentanyl earlier this month.
Police say first responders were called to a home on W. 12th Avenue near Sunset Elementary School March 2.
First responders initially thought the two-year-old was choking but learned the child had been exposed to fentanyl and received Narcan.
The child was taken to the hospital and recovered.
Airway Heights police did not say if any arrests have occurred.
The Airway Heights Police Department says this incident is an example of the fentanyl problem in our community that has promoted the Spokane County sheriff to call for harsher punishments for parents involved.
