NEZ PERCE COUNTY, Idaho — A woman died while hiking a trail near Reubens, Idaho on Saturday, according to Nez Perce County Sheriff’s Office.
Around 10:30 a.m. on March 9, Nez Perce County deputies responded to a call about an injured hiker on the railroad trail between Highway 95 and Reubens.
When deputies and medics arrived, a group of hikers told them a falling rock had struck the 40-year-old woman in the head inside one of the railroad tunnels, about four miles east of Highway 95.
The other hikers tried to provide aid until help arrived, but the woman died from her injuries at the scene.
