SPOKANE ARENA – The Freeman Scotties were down two points with 11 seconds of regulation to spare. A Colton Wells lay-up kept the Scotties hopes of a semifinal appearance alive.
“We’ve trained for this,” said Wells, a senior guard. “We’ve had our out-of-league (games) tough so we know how to play for games like this.”
Freeman beat Northwest Christian with one period of overtime. The final score was 54-46.
The Scotties will face Rearden in the state semifinal round on Friday at 5:30 p.m. in the Spokane Arena.
“Really looking forward to it, I mean definitely just trying to punch one home with the team, this family.” said Wells.
