SPOKANE, Wash. — Southside Food Pantry is asking for help from volunteers who are looking to make a difference in the community.
The organization says it is looking for people who are able to help with its Grocery Rescue Program. The program picks up food from local grocery partners and brings it to the food pantry.
In order to pick up food through the Grocery Rescue Program, you should be available during the week from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., have a truck or SUV and be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
If you do not meet these qualifications, you can still volunteer throughout the week or on Saturdays between 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
For more information on volunteer opportunities, email NicolleC@southsidespokane.org or call 509-508-0131.
You can register for Saturday volunteer opportunities online here.
